Dive into the vibrant world of pop culture art through drawing! Children will explore artwork and drawing approaches inspired by popular movies, TV shows, comics, and video games. They’ll learn sketching basics and also about different drawing styles associated with pop culture and create their own fan art, character designs, or poster compositions. This theme encourages creativity, personal expression, and an appreciation for drawing as well as popular contemporary art forms.

Session 2:
Start Date: November 8, 2023
End Date: December 20, 2023

Mixed Media Adventures:

Unleash creativity by combining different art mediums and materials! Children will experiment with a variety of art supplies, such as paints, markers, collage materials, and found objects, to create mixed media artworks. They’ll explore techniques like layering, texture creation, and combining traditional and unconventional materials to produce unique and visually engaging compositions.

Session 3:
Start Date: January 10, 2024
End Date: February 21, 2024

Painting Adventures:

Discover the versatility of acrylic paints! Children will explore various painting techniques, colour mixing, and composition principles to create vibrant and expressive artworks. They’ll experiment with different subject matters, from landscapes to still life, and learn how to apply layers, create texture, and use different brush techniques. This theme fosters painting skills and artistic expression.

Session 4:
Start Date: February 28, 2024 (NO CLASS MARCH BREAK – March 13, 2024)
End Date: April 17, 2024

Art and Technology Fusion:

Explore the intersection of art and technology! Children will experiment with digital art tools, such as digital painting software or graphic design programs, to create dynamic and visually captivating artworks. They’ll learn about digital art techniques, colour theory, composition, and explore the endless possibilities of blending traditional and digital art mediums.
