In the first class of my 10-14yr old session I decided that it would be beneficial for the students to learn about drawing from various angles and points of view. Many of them knew of perspective and had heard of birds-eye-view or aerial view but only two had heard of worms-eye-view.
So, this was the motivation for us to take a trip outside, stand/sit under the biggest tree we could find and take in the view that a lowly earthworm gets to enjoy everyday. At first, the students found it tricky to get a handle on the foreshortening of the branches but soon after they were drawing away and loving it!
Great job everyone!
