Teen ART Classes – Drawing, Painting, & Theory (13yrs -17yrs)
Mondays or Thursdays 7:45pm – 9:00pm
In this class we will work towards building a personal art portfolio that incorporates your artistic vision and touches on important personal interests/issues.
With a focus on drawing and painting, we’ll take on a variety of projects that will further your knowledge of technique, colour theory and composition, along with how art can help to make connections and commentary on personal, social, environmental, and political happenings.
We will also engage in supportive critique sessions throughout this class that are designed to highlight strengths, and reveal areas for improvement and growth for our art.
This class provides a safe venue for authentic self-expression and individuality. It is a MUST for any teen that feels called to drawing/painting and is looking to further explore the commonalities of the self, life and art.

In this fun and interactive creative writing class, kids will have the opportunity to learn about the magical world of storytelling. Through formal and informal teaching techniques, kids will begin to discover what types of stories make for a captive audience.
This writing program is designed for teens (Quires) who have a passion, or new interest, for reading and writing and wish to take that enthusiasm and bring it to the page.
Teens will learn step-by-step from the beginning of the writing process to the end to help them craft stories that will keep them engaged and creative. Topics we will cover—what makes for a great writer, parts of a novel, types of stories, genres, writing goals, show & tell, and various writing techniques
Every class is rooted in a common theme and genre in literature that will guide our direction. Each class will begin with a story, followed by a grammar lesson, and the remaining time is dedicated to writing. By the end of the course, everyone will have a completed work that they can feel proud of.
