Seeing in Colour
One of the most difficult things about capturing colour is being able to see colour as value.
What colour values are in a stainless steel fork exactly? Lights or darks? How much darker is the shadow side than the light side? ​​In this workshop we practice focusing on painting one colour at a time and getting feedback to correct and adjust, in order to capture all that colour has to offer!

Life-Drawing with Live Model
A life drawing is a drawing of the human figure from observation of a live model. Creating life drawings, or life studies, in a life class, has been a large element in the traditional training of artists in the Western world since the Renaissance. (Costumed Poses)

Linocut Printmaking
Linocut, also known as lino print, lino printing or linoleum art, is a variant of woodcut and a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for creating a relief surface. The surface is then inked and impressions of the cut images are made in print. This workshop will give you loads of ideas on using linocut for card making, collage work and so much more!

Design Your Own: Ceramic Incense/Plant Holder
Ceramics are generally made by taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders, and water and shaping them into desired forms. Once shaped, and fired in a high temperature oven known as a kiln, ceramics can then be covered in decorative, waterproof, paint-like substance known as glaze. We will be glazing our own bisque-ware incense dishes or planters with fun and fantastic designs in this workshop and then will have them for use at home or to give as great gifts!

Paper Making
Paper Making involves the processing of recycled paper and cardboard, used widely for printing, writing, and packaging, among many other purposes into hand-crafted workable papers. Handmade paper survives as a specialised craft and a medium for artistic expression.

Assemblage & Collage
Collaging refers to the construction of a work of art out of paper items, such as photographs, newspaper, ribbon, magazines, books, etc. It differs from assemblage, which combines objects usually not made of paper, found objects like insect wings, coins, or utensils. In this workshop we will be combining the two to create fabulous works of art.

Come to learn how to expertly combine natural waxes and wicks in this fun and creative workshop! Natural Pigment Making
Imagine walking through a forest or exploring the escarpment to forage for pigments to make your own paints instead of purchasing mass-produced tubes of it. Working with natural pigments is a transformative process that establishes a unifying relationship between you and the Earth. In this workshop you will become familiar with natural pigments in their wild habitat as well as how to ethically forage and prepare them for art-making.
